The fastest, lowest-cost way for an institution to open a corridor and touch its entire student body.
The institutional problem
Why this is hard today.
Physical mobility reaches under 2% of students at most universities. The other 98% graduate without a single structured cross-border academic experience — and institutions carry the internationalisation deficit into every ranking submission.
Faculty who want to co-teach with an international peer have no institutional route to do so. They cannot find a matched partner, cannot align calendars, and cannot get the co-taught module recognised on either transcript.
The COIL / virtual exchange model — pioneered by SUNY COIL Center, endorsed by UNESCO, funded through Erasmus+ Virtual Exchange, and named in NEP 2020 as internationalisation-at-home — is proven. What is missing is the institutional infrastructure to run it at scale.

Stage 4 · Institutional endorsement & credit recognition
Both institutions confirm credit-bearing status, transcript notation, and platform access. Optional UGC / NEP 2020 internationalisation-at-home tagging on the Indian side.

Stage 5 · Student enrolment & LMS bridge
Students enrolled from both sides, cross-institution rosters synced, shared LMS environment provisioned, orientation session scheduled.

4–8 weeks of co-taught delivery — mixed synchronous sessions, asynchronous group projects, cross-border student teams — tracked on a joint dashboard.
